Turmeric overnight oats

Kurkuma Overnight Oats

We don't know about you, but the rule of thumb "Eat breakfast like an emperor, eat dinner like a beggar" used to give us headaches. It may be that a filling, wholesome breakfast is healthy. How the hell are you supposed to do that in the morning?

No matter what the physicists say, we are sure: the clock hands turn particularly quickly at the beginning of the day. Just turn around again briefly – boom! – 15 minutes are already gone. Getting ready in the bathroom – bam! – half an hour over. There is simply not enough time for a royal or even imperial breakfast. At some point we have to start with our daily obligations.

But that was before the brilliant invention called overnight oats came into our lives! The principle is simple: put all the ingredients in the muki snack pot, stir, and put in the fridge overnight. And enjoy a healthy, delicious and, above all, stress-free breakfast in the morning. Also to go if desired.

So that it doesn't get boring, we keep trying out new variations. Today's recipe brings a special flavor to the pot with turmeric and pepper.

  • If you like Indian Golden Milk , you will love this porridge. When you spoon it, it gives you all the benefits (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immune-boosting) that are also attributed to the drink according to Ayurveda.

  • If you don't have much experience with turmeric yet , approach it carefully and see whether you like the intense, slightly bitter aroma. It's better to use a little less spice mixture to start with. For more information about turmeric, take a look at the magazine article from Online-Trainer .

Turmeric overnight oats

You need this:

For the overnight oats

  • 50 g fine oat flakes
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed

  • 1 tsp peeled hemp seeds

  • 1/2 tsp spice mix for golden milk*

  • 170 ml almond milk

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey

*You can also mix the spice mixture yourself: 4 tbsp turmeric powder, 2 tbsp cinnamon, 2 tbsp ginger powder, pinch of mixed nutmeg, pinch of mixed cardamom, pinch of mixed black pepper.

For the topping

  • 1 handful of blueberries

  • 2 tbsp desiccated coconut

It's that easy:

  1. Mix the oat flakes with the linseeds and hemp seeds in the muki snack pot.

  2. Add spices, pour in almond milk and refine with maple syrup or honey.

  3. Put the lid on and shake well. Place in the refrigerator overnight.

  4. The next morning, stir well (this way you distribute the sweetness evenly) and sprinkle with the topping.

Tip : If you have to go straight away, put the topping in the lid compartment of the muki and enjoy the oats in style on the go.

Bon appetit!
